Adjustable Steady Arm officially approved for the Dutch B1 overhead line system
Rhevolec is proud to share an important milestone: our Adjustable Steady Arm has officially been approved for use within the Dutch B1 overhead line system.
A few months ago, we introduced this innovative solution for the rail sector. Following an extensive process of development, testing and assessment, it has now been established that the Adjustable Steady Arm fully complies with the requirements of the ProRail product specification SPC00092-V007. This demonstrates that the product is suitable for use in the Dutch B1 overhead line system.
Proven quality, reliability and performance
The approval confirms that the Adjustable Steady Arm meets the requirements in the areas of quality, reliability and performance. During the development process, the solution was extensively tested, including on mechanical and electrical properties. The aluminium used was also subjected to a corrosion test.
The Adjustable Steady Arm has been developed to make the installation of overhead line systems simpler, faster and more reliable. Thanks to its adjustability in 25 mm increments, low weight and delivery as a fully applicable solution, preparatory assembly work on site is no longer necessary. This helps rail contractors to reduce installation time, limit failure costs and carry out work more efficiently within increasingly shorter Train-Free Periods.
Developed from practical experience
Practical experience was central to the development process. Rhevolec worked closely with BAM Infra Nederland, technology partner Bonomi Eugenio SpA and the infrastructure manager. The first application took place at the pilot location Emmen-Zuid, where BAM installed the Adjustable Steady Arms in practice.
This pilot demonstrated how the innovation contributes to a fast and efficient installation, without any additional preparatory assembly work. Overhead line fitters also received training in advance at the Railcenter in Amersfoort, enabling the solution to be applied directly and safely in the field.
A next step towards future-proof overhead lines
With this official approval, Rhevolec takes a concrete next step in the development of future-proof overhead line systems in the Netherlands. The Adjustable Steady Arm combines practical installation advantages with the quality and reliability required for use on the Dutch rail network.
