Minor Rail Technology – Utrecht University of Applied Sciences visits RIBE® Germany
On December 11, 2015, Rhevolec, together with about 22 students, organized a company visit to Richard Bergner Elektroarmaturen GmbH & Co KG in Schwabach (Germany) as part of the Minor Rail Technology program at Utrecht University of Applied Sciences.
During the company visit, the students received a general presentation about RIBE® and were given a factory tour where they observed the complete production process for manufacturing various overhead line products. Additionally, the students were present during a test of a new type of wheel tensioning system in which a contact wire break was simulated.
The Minor Rail Technology program is a collaboration between Utrecht University of Applied Sciences, ProRail, the Rail Infrastructure Division of Bouwend Nederland, NL Engineers, and Rail Infra Opleidingen (RIO). Due to aging personnel and technological developments, the rail sector will urgently need new higher-educated technical professionals in the coming years. Since both Rhevolec and RIBE® recognize the importance of developing new talent within the rail infrastructure market, RIBE® has offered an internship position to interested students.
